The Opportunity
The Islamic College of Brisbane (ICB) is expanding its academic offerings and is seeking a passionate and innovative Distance Education Teacher to join our growing team in 2026.The successful candidate will design, deliver, and evaluate virtual lessons, supporting students through interactive digital platforms, meaningful feedback, and personalised academic and pastoral care.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging online lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum
Develop digital learning materials tailored to diverse student needs and learning styles
Assess and provide timely, constructive feedback on student progress and achievement
Support student wellbeing through ongoing communication and pastoral care
Monitor student participation and follow up on attendance or engagement concerns
Collaborate with faculty members, coordinators, and support staff to maintain consistency and quality
Engage in continuous professional learning in digital pedagogy and assessment practices
Uphold Islamic values and promote the mission of the College in teaching and communication
Bachelor of Education (Primary or Secondary) or equivalent teaching qualification
Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
Demonstrated experience in distance, blended, or online teaching (preferred)
Strong digital literacy and proficiency with Learning Management Systems (e.g. Canvas, Google Classroom, Moodle)
Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
Ability to create a supportive and engaging virtual classroom environment
Demonstrated commitment to Islamic values and the mission of the College
