Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning and Support Teacher to join our team on a part-time basis (3 days per week) for Term 3 and Term 4 2026. In this role, you will be responsible for providing targeted educational support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring their academic growth and engagement within the school community. You will collaborate closely with classroom teachers, parents, and other specialists to develop and implement inclusive teaching strategies and individualised learning plans that foster student success.
Role Overview: Learning and Support Teacher
A Learning and Support Teacher plays a vital role in identifying and addressing the varied learning challenges faced by students. The primary focus is to support students with additional learning needs, including those with disabilities, learning difficulties, or other barriers to learning. This involves assessing student needs, adapting curriculum content, delivering specialised instruction, liaising with families and external agencies, and supporting teachers to differentiate teaching practices effectively.
Skills and Experience Required
- Relevant teaching qualifications and current NSW teacher accreditation
- Experience working with students who have diverse learning needs and abilities
- Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction and inclusive educational practices
- Ability to assess, plan, and deliver individualised learning programs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student learning and wellbeing
- Familiarity with relevant educational frameworks and support services
- Good organisational and record-keeping abilities
