Expressions of interest
are invited to apply for a School Learning Support Officer within our preschool
for the remainder of 2026 with a possibility of extension.
School Information: Claymore Public School has a total
enrolment of students from Preschool to Year 6. There are 56% of students from
a language background other than English and 18% of students identify as
Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school successfully caters for
students from diverse language, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds and
aims to develop the whole child and cater for individual differences, providing
many programs to support specific needs.
Our public preschool is an approved early childhood education and care
service, operating under the requirements of the National Quality Framework. We
provide a safe and secure play-based and intentional educational
program to support every child to make a strong start in life and learning and
experience a successful transition to school. We are committed to protecting
and promoting the safety, wellbeing and rights of all children. This role has
child safety responsibilities, including mandatory reporting, and requires a
strong commitment to maintaining a child-safe environment
About the role
This role requires a demonstrated commitment to providing safe
environments for children with their rights, needs and interests at the centre
of all decisions. The role includes mandatory reporting responsibilities and
requires understanding and commitment to maintaining a child safe environment
by recognising, responding and reporting concerns and taking part in ongoing
training and improvement of child safe practices.
The successful candidate will work closely with our preschool educator providing
additional assistance to students (including those with disabilities), to
assist with classroom management, providing personal care, supporting
communication and encouraging social inclusion.

Candidates must hold one of the following qualifications
1. Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
2. Certificate III in School Based Education Support that completed the
qualification before January 2023
