Job Summary
The Opportunity
Due to the growth of the College, the Islamic College of Brisbane (ICB) is seeking passionate and dedicated House Coordinators across Primary and Secondary school in 2026. This is a position of added responsibility, undertaken alongside classroom teaching duties.
As House Coordinator, you will inspire student engagement, wellbeing, and school spirit through active leadership within the College’s House system.
The successful applicant will be responsible for fostering a strong sense of belonging, teamwork, and character development among students, while supporting the College’s wellbeing and pastoral care programs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead student wellbeing within your House, acting as the first point of contact and ensuring a supportive environment.
Monitor and analyse student attendance, behaviour, and academic data to implement targeted interventions.
Organise and lead House events, assemblies, and inter-House competitions to foster school spirit.
Encourage student participation in school life and promote leadership within the House.
Support behavioural development through restorative practices and work in the Reflection Room.
Liaise regularly with families, teachers, and the Student Support team to ensure cohesive student care.
Collaborate with other House Coordinators and ICB House Committee members on whole-school engagement initiatives.
Selection Criteria
Demonstrated excellence as an educator with a strong understanding of adolescent development.
Proven ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Leadership experience, particularly in fostering student engagement and wellbeing.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
High-level communication skills, both written and verbal.
Commitment to the vision and mission of the Islamic College of Brisbane.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the school’s strategic goals.
Experience in event coordination and fostering school spirit through co-curricular activities.
