Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) Teacher AUD$75,000 - AUD$125,000 per annum
Location: Northern Beaches, Sydney, NSW
We are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) teacher to
join a highly regarded independent school in the Northern Beaches of Sydney. The school has a

This is an ongoing, full-time teaching position within the Senior School TAS department.
The
successful candidate will deliver engaging, student-centered learning experiences across a range of
Technology subjects. The school values teachers who are adaptable and able to contribute to the
wider life of the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across Design and Technology, Multimedia, and
Computing.
- Support students in Key stage 3, 4 and 5.
- Experience of working with KS5 students is highly desirable.
- Foster a student-centered classroom environment that encourages creativity, critical
thinking, and practical problem-solving.
- Contribute to the development of innovative and engaging curriculum resources.
- Participate in pastoral care, extracurricular activities, and school events.
Preferred Specialisms:
• Design and Technology (including Product Design, Textiles, Design Technology, or
Engineering)
• Multimedia/Computing
• Other Technology related disciplines will also be considered for strong candidates.
Requirements:
- A 3-year bachelor’s degree in relevant subject plus a 1-year PGCE or equivalent teacher
training program to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Previous classroom experience preferred, ideally with exposure to a range of year levels or
stages.
- Accredited with, or eligible for accreditation from NESA (New South Wales Education
Standards Authority).
- Ability to legally work in the host country (visa requirements may apply).
- Strong classroom management, excellent communication skills, and ability to deliver
engaging, student-centered lessons.
- Adaptability: Willingness to adjust to a new curriculum, culture, and school environment.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and support student learning in TAS subjects.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.

Duties and responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality TAS lessons (Design & Technology, Multimedia,
Computing) that engage students and promote practical skills.
- Teach Key Stage 5 senior secondary TAS courses, including assessment and reporting.
- Develop and implement creative and student-centered learning activities, fostering critical
thinking, problem-solving, and design skills.
- Manage classroom environments effectively, ensuring student safety and engagement during
practical and theoretical lessons.
- Prepare learning resources, project briefs, and assessment materials aligned with curriculum
requirements.
- Monitor and assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate
records of achievement.
- Keep up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and educational best practices to
enhance student learning outcomes.
