The Opportunity

The Islamic College of Brisbane is seeking an experienced and passionate educator to join our Secondary School as a Curriculum Leader – Arabic Language.

This is a Position of Added Responsibility (PAR) role combining classroom teaching with curriculum leadership responsibilities. The successful applicant will play a key role in leading the development and delivery of the Arabic Language curriculum while supporting high-quality teaching and learning outcomes across the faculty.

Key Responsibilities

As Curriculum Leader – Arabic Language, you will provide leadership in curriculum planning, assessment, and pedagogical practice while maintaining a teaching load. You will work collaboratively with school leaders and teaching staff to ensure curriculum delivery aligns with the Australian Curriculum and the College's educational and Islamic values.

  • Lead the planning, development and review of the Arabic Language curriculum

  • Develop curriculum mapping, assessment tasks and teaching resources

  • Support and mentor teachers in effective teaching and learning practices

  • Monitor student achievement data and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

  • Promote innovative and engaging pedagogical practices within the faculty

  • Support the integration of Islamic pedagogy within curriculum and classroom teaching

  • Contribute to the academic, personal and social development of students

  • Undertake classroom teaching responsibilities as part of the role

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant teaching qualifications and current QCT registration (or eligibility to obtain registration)

  • Demonstrated experience teaching Arabic Language in a school setting

  • Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, planning, assessment and reporting requirements

  • Experience leading curriculum initiatives or supporting colleagues in curriculum development

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

  • Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement

  • Demonstrated support for the Islamic ethos, values and practices of the College
