Job Summary

Talent Focus is recruiting for a Secondary English/Mathematics Teacher based in Brisbane South, working within a supportive and student-centred learning environment focused on young people with diverse learning needs and backgrounds.

We are also open to applicants with additional subject specialisms (such as PDHPE, Creative Arts, or other areas), which will be considered an advantage.


About the Role

In this role, you will deliver engaging and accessible learning programs in English and/or Mathematics, while supporting students through tailored academic and wellbeing approaches. You will work closely with a collaborative multidisciplinary team to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve their personal best.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering engaging English and/or Mathematics lessons
  • Supporting students with diverse learning needs and educational backgrounds
  • Contributing to student wellbeing and engagement programs
  • Assisting students with vocational and post-school pathway planning
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, and youth workers
  • Creating a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Differentiating learning to meet individual student needs

About You

We are seeking a committed and compassionate educator who is passionate about supporting students who may be at risk or require additional learning support.

You will have:

  • Relevant teaching qualification and current QCT registration
  • Strong capability in teaching English and/or Mathematics
  • Experience working with diverse or at-risk learner cohorts (highly regarded)
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
  • A flexible, collaborative, and student-focused approach
  • Additional subject areas (PDHPE, Creative Arts, etc.) viewed favourably
