Temporary Science Teacher – Warrawong High School

Warrawong High School is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Temporary Science Teacher to join our team from Day 1, Term 2 for 4 weeks, with the possibility of extension.

Position Details

• Role: Temporary Science Teacher

• Commencement: Day 1, Term 2

• Duration: 4 weeks (with potential to extend)

• Location: Warrawong High School, Warrawong NSW

• Teaching load: Junior Science (Years 7–10)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and curriculum-aligned Science lessons to junior classes (Years 7–10).

• Plan, implement and assess learning programs that cater for a diverse range of learners.

• Maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.

• Work collaboratively with the Science faculty to support student learning and faculty initiatives.

• Contribute to the broader school community and uphold the school’s values and policies.

Essential Requirements

• Current NSW Department of Education approval to teach (or eligibility to obtain).

• Recognised teaching qualification with Science as a teaching area (or equivalent).

• Current NSW Working With Children Check clearance.

• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

• Ability to differentiate learning and support students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Desirable

• Experience teaching Stage 4 and Stage 5 Science.

• Willingness to integrate practical work, ICT, and literacy/numeracy strategies into lessons.

• Commitment to student wellbeing and positive behaviour for learning practices.
