Job Summary

Anzac Park Public School is seeking a Classroom Teacher to join our supportive and dedicated team in the Support Unit class. This multi-categorical (MC) class caters to students with Autism and Moderate to Mild Intellectual Disabilities, comprising 7 students from Years 2 to 6, supported by a staff ratio of 7:2. All students have personalised learning and support plans tailored to their individual needs. The successful candidate will work in a positive and collaborative environment, contributing to the growth and development of our students within a caring and professional team.

Selection Criteria:

Experience in or a willingness to exhibit a strong commitment to teaching students with Autism, mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, and complex challenging behaviours.
Experience in and committment to programming and planning to integrate students’ Personalised Learning and Support Plan (PLSP) goals, with a focus on literacy and numeracy, to maximise student growth and promote high expectations.
Demonstrated strong classroom management skills, including the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with students, colleagues, parents/carers, school learning support officers, external agencies and the wider school community.
