Matrix Education is Australia's best tuition college for students in Year 3 to 12. Our Primary Education department is now hiring a full time Primary Academic Learning Lead. 

The Primary Academic Learning Lead is a strategic and operational leadership role responsible for shaping the learning experience and outcomes for Primary students at Matrix. This role combines ownership of the subject learning program with active involvement in day-to-day academic operations, including teacher support, class planning, mentoring students and maintaining academic standards.

This position is a full time role based at our Sydney CBD head office with regular weekly teaching hours at our satellite campus locations.

 

What you'll do...

  • Own the end-to-end design and continuous improvement of Matrix's year 3 - 6 learning program in line with NESA and Matrix standards.
  • Lead the creation of high-impact teaching and learning materials including theory books, homework, assessments, and digital content.
  • Use student performance data, teacher insights, and parent feedback to iterate and improve course offerings.
  • Teach a minimum load each term to stay connected to the classroom experience and role model best-in-class teaching.
  • Promote a culture of reflective practice and collaborative professional learning across the teaching team.
  • Share best practices and support continuous improvement in teaching quality and student outcomes.
  • Monitor academic performance across classes and identify areas for intervention or improvement.
  • Collaborate with parents and CX teams to support student progress and resolve escalated academic issues.
  • Analyse term results and report on key learning trends and product performance.
  • Lead a team of academic writers to develop high-quality teaching and learning resources, ensuring outputs are delivered on time and to standard.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing, CX, and Operations teams to support accurate promotion, delivery, and student experience of learning programs.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement and innovation in teaching, learning, and academic systems and processes.

 

What you'll need...

  • Minimum two years' of experience in management of educational course design and staff or a project management role.
  • Extensive Primary classroom teaching experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of the current stage 2 and 3 NESA curriculum, including methods of assessment.
  • Proven success in learning program design and learning resource development.
  • Experience leading educators and fostering teaching excellence.
  • Ability to use student data and feedback to drive product improvements.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms and blended learning environments.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Education or a related field.
