Early Years Teacher (Reception and Kindergarten)

Ngutu College is an independent, not-for-profit, socially just college on Kaurna Country in Woodville North, South Australia. 


The successful applicant will be able to articulate their philosophical alignment with Ngutu, demonstrate pedagogical alignment with ours, and strongly believe in children and young people as competent and capable.

The most crucial objective is to foster a sense of well-being, belonging, and a strong identity for all children. Additionally, understanding and addressing learning and socio-emotional needs by identifying individual learning points and supporting growth.


Educators in these positions will closely collaborate with a team of other educator staff and co-educators (SSOs). A high level of collegiality and collaboration is imperative. 


A specialist focus on Early Year Learning is essential. The successful Early Years Educator will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the centre’s program, in addition to this, they will be responsible for connecting with children in an open and authentic manner and creating enriching experiences that foster the holistic development of children, drawing upon both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.


Fraction of Time: 1.0.

Start date: Immediate 

Type: 12-month Fixed-term contract with the opportunity to extend by mutual agreement.

Position Tier: Based on experience or equivalent tier.

Salary: $82,000 - $119,000

  • Teacher’s Registration (South Australia).
  • Screening clearance and DHS Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Responding to Risks of Harm Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC).
