Cessnock High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate English teacher for a full-time position for Term 2 2025 beginning 28 April with a possible extension until the end of the year. This role primarily involves teaching English to students in Years 7-12.
Cessnock High School is a contemporary and future-focused learning community located in the historic heritage school buildings on Aberdare Rd, in the picturesque Hunter Valley.
Our 2025 enrolment will encompass approximately 620 students from diverse backgrounds including 25% of whom identify as Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander.
Professional learning is a strongly embedded structure within our school, with key focus areas including quality teaching, literacy and numeracy, and trauma-informed practice.
We proudly foster strong relationships with our partner primary schools and have set the standard in Aboriginal Education, Middle School. Our support unit contains 10 classes of ED, IM, IO/IS, MC and AU classifications.
