Position Information
This full-time teaching position at Bankstown Girls High School involves delivering engaging and high-quality music instruction across multiple year levels. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Stage 6 Music (Years 11 & 12): Teaching Music 1 and/or Music 2, preparing students for HSC performance, composition, and musicology components. Stage 4 Mandatory Music (Year 8): Delivering a dynamic and engaging foundational music curriculum. Stage 5 Elective Music (Year 10): Encouraging student creativity and musical skill development in preparation for senior music courses. Additional responsibilities may include coordinating school music ensembles, supporting performance opportunities, and contributing to the school’s co-curricular music program.

Bankstown Girls High School is a comprehensive secondary school established in 1960, located in Sydney's southwest. Our student population consists of 570 girls, representing a diverse range of cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds. Notably, 98% of our students come from non-English speaking backgrounds, and 30% require varying levels of support in English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D). Position Criteria
1. Approval to teach Music for grades 7-12, along with a thorough understanding of the Music curriculum and a demonstrated commitment to enhancing student engagement.
2. Evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of being a collaborative, integral, and effective member of the CAPA faculty.
