The Entrance Public School is located on the Central Coast of NSW about 1 and a half
hours North of Sydney. The school has 450 students in mainstream, a support class of 9
students for children with moderate and severe intellectual disabilities (IO/IS) and a
preschool consisting of up to 40 students who attend five days in a fortnight, in two groups
of 20.
The school has initiated a new philosophy of high aspirations and expectations for its
students, staff and community.
Our school is supported by a proud and vibrant community with a strong emphasis and
focus on Aboriginal Education, Sport and Technology. Our school strives for strong
community connections with over 70% in the lowest income quartile and more than 20% of
our students with an Aboriginal background. The school has seen a recent increase in its
EALD (English as an Additional Language) population with 13% of families identifying as
such. Over 60% of our students come from a single parent home.
The school offers a number of extra-curricular opportunities across Sport, Technology,
Dance, Environment and Cultural arenas which enable our students to thrive with a range of
different experiences.
