About the Role
The successful applicant will:
- Deliver engaging Mathematics and Science programs to secondary students.
- Differentiate curriculum to meet diverse learning needs.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with young people.
- Undertake Home Room Teacher responsibilities, serving as a consistent point of contact for a small group of students and supporting their engagement, wellbeing and educational progress.
- Support students to develop positive routines, goal-setting skills and readiness for learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, youth workers and support staff to support student success.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor, assess and report on student progress.
- Support students to achieve academic, social and personal growth.
About You
You will be:
- A registered teacher, or eligible for registration, with the Queensland College of Teachers.
- Experienced or confident teaching Mathematics and/or Science in a secondary setting.
- Passionate about supporting young people who may have previously disengaged from education.
- Flexible, resilient and relationship-focused.
- Committed to inclusive education and student wellbeing.
- Able to contribute positively to a collaborative and multidisciplinary team environment.
Experience working with students presenting complex educational, behavioural or wellbeing needs will be highly regarded but is not essential.
