Job Summary
About the Role
The successful applicant will join a dedicated and collaborative English faculty and be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality lessons across Years 7-12.
The role will include:
  • Teaching English across Stage 4, 5 and 6.
  • Preparing and delivering engaging lessons aligned with NESA requirements.
  • Supporting students to achieve strong academic outcomes in HSC English courses.
  • Using assessment data to inform teaching and improve student achievement.
  • Creating a classroom culture characterised by curiosity, critical thinking, creativity and academic rigour.
  • Providing timely and constructive feedback to students.
  • Contributing positively to faculty initiatives, curriculum development and co-curricular programs.
  • Building productive partnerships with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Experience teaching one or more of the following will be highly regarded:
  • English Advanced
  • English Standard
  • English Extension 1
  • English Extension 2
  • Studies of Literature
The Successful Applicant Will Demonstrate
  • A genuine passion for English education and improving student outcomes.
  • Experience teaching Senior English, including HSC courses.
  • A strong understanding of NESA English syllabus requirements and HSC assessment practices.
  • The ability to foster a love of literature, reading, writing and language.
  • Excellent knowledge of effective literacy instruction and evidence-informed teaching practices.
  • The ability to teach students with diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • High expectations for student achievement, behaviour and engagement.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to build positive and productive relationships with students, staff and families.
  • A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the School through co-curricular activities, camps, pastoral care and community events.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to ongoing professional growth.
