Total Annual Remuneration Package (1.0 FTE): The
total annual remuneration package for this classroom teacher position is valued
up to $156,253.00, including leave loading and employer's contribution to
superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on
experience.

Denison College of Secondary Education - Kelso High Campus
is a comprehensive public high school with 815 students, including 160
Aboriginal students, located in the city of Bathurst NSW, three hours drive
from the Sydney CBD. Bathurst boasts a rich heritage and beautiful natural
environment, a wide range of career opportunities and an affordable lifestyle,
and a thriving and inclusive social scene.
The campus offers a comprehensive support unit operating
within a highly inclusive model of support for students with disabilities. The
unit comprises ten Special Education classes, including one Tutorial (TUT), two
Intensive Learning Support - Mental Health (ILS-MH), four Autism (AU), one Mild
Intellectual Disability (IM), and two Multi-Categorical (MC) classes that
integrate seamlessly with mainstream classes.
Our highly skilled teachers in the support unit possess
extensive knowledge of legislative requirements and evidence-based teaching
strategies that support the participation and learning of our 69 enrolled
students. The team places a strong emphasis on personal achievement in
academics and social-emotional learning, supported by a well-resourced
environment and two full-time head teachers who provide comprehensive middle
leadership across instructional, wellbeing, and faculty domains.
At Kelso High Campus we implement a comprehensive program to
support early career teachers so university students with interim approval to
teach are also encouraged to apply.

Selection Criteria:
Successful applicants must have NSW Department of Education
approval to teach in NSW public schools. If you require assistance in obtaining

The selection process involves:
- submission
of a current resume with contact details for two school-based referees who
are familiar with, and able to discuss, your abilities and suitability for
this position. One of your referees must be your current/most recent
supervisor.
- submission
of a written application addressing the specific selection criteria below
(maximum of 1 ½ pages)
- verbal
referee reports and
- an
informal interview.
Specific Selection Criteria:
1.
Approval to teach and/or experience in teaching
students with Behaviour Difficulties and/or Emotional Disturbance, with
demonstrated excellence in individualised classroom teaching practice. Please note that it is not essential for the
successful applicant to have NSW Department of Education special education
teaching codes.
2. Demonstrated
strong classroom and behaviour management skills and wellbeing practices that
support data-driven teaching and learning, through high expectations.
3.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal
skills with the ability to work collaboratively, proactively and professionally
with colleagues, parents and carers, Student Learning Support Officers (SLSOs),
external support agencies and the wider community.
