Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mathematics Teacher role located in the Greater Sydney Area, working with Mindsync Jobs partner schools. The Mathematics Teacher will plan, deliver, and assess engaging mathematics lessons aligned with curriculum standards for the relevant year levels. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and teaching materials, differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs, and using data to monitor and support student progress. The role involves managing classroom behavior, providing timely feedback on student work, and maintaining accurate records of attendance, assessments, and reports. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, participate in staff meetings and professional learning, and communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to support student achievement and wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Strong subject-matter expertise in Mathematics and Mathematics Education, with the ability to teach core and extension content clearly and confidently.
  • Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development, including designing units of work, assessments, and differentiated learning activities aligned with school and state standards.
  • Status as a Qualified Teacher with appropriate teaching credentials and registration (or eligibility for registration) in the relevant Australian jurisdiction.
  • Demonstrated classroom management, student engagement, and behavior support skills in diverse, mixed-ability classrooms.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary school teams.
  • Commitment to inclusive education, safeguarding, and supporting the academic and social-emotional development of all learners.
  • Experience with formative and summative assessment practices, data-informed instruction, and reporting on student progress.
  • Familiarity with educational technology, including learning management systems and digital tools for teaching Mathematics, is highly regarded.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Mathematics, or a closely related field; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
