Job Summary
Kidman Park Primary School are looking for an energetic teacher to work 1:1 with a male Year 6 student, in a flexible learning area adjacent to other classes. The student is autistic, and has a trauma background. The successful candidate would be responsible for programming and planning for  the student, and would be supported by the Year 6 teaching team, as well as the wellbeing leader. Our aim is to set this student up for a successful transition to high school at the end of the year, through building strategies for breaking tasks down, and working through problems step by step. A key focus would be on working through the child protection curriculum, so experience in this area is important. The student can display some confronting behaviours such as sexualised language use. This student has shown great progress having 1:1 SSO support, involving modified curriculum, including some outdoor education. Each day can look different, so adaptability and flexibility, as well as being able to modify/change tasks on the go are essential.
