Talent Focus is recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded secondary school seeking an experienced and practical Hard Materials / Product Design & Technology Teacher for a full-time teaching opportunity commencing in Semester 2.

This position is a Long Service Leave contract through to the end of the school year, with the potential for an ongoing opportunity in 2027 for the right candidate.

About the Role

The successful teacher will deliver established curriculum programs across Years 7–12 within Hard Materials and Product Design & Technology.

The teaching load includes:

• Years 7–8: Hard Tools / Woodwork
• Year 9: Wood & Metal
• Years 11–12: Advanced use of tools, resin, plastics, product and design

The curriculum and planning for the year have already been implemented, allowing for a smooth transition into the role.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience teaching Hard Materials, Woodwork, Metalwork, or Product Design & Technology
• Demonstrate strong workshop management and safety practices
• Be confident teaching practical, hands-on subjects across secondary year levels
• Build positive relationships with students and colleagues
• Bring enthusiasm and creativity to practical learning environments

Essential Requirements

• Relevant teaching qualifications
• Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration or ability to obtain
• Full Australian working rights
• Strong classroom and workshop management skills
