About the role
Callaghan College Wallsend Campus is seeking a motivated and
enthusiastic Creative and Performing Arts teacher to deliver Stage 4 and 5 CAPA
curriculum to our 9 Support Classes. The successful candidate will have excellent
interpersonal and communication skills and will be able to support students with a
diverse range of needs. Responsibilities include:
• Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Stage 4 and 5 CAPA aligned with
the NSW Department of Education syllabus to our 9 Special Education
Support Classes.
• Plan, program, assess, and report on student learning outcomes in
accordance with school and department requirements.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that promotes
student engagement, creativity, and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the CAPA and Special Education faculties
Selection criteria:
1. Approval to teach Creative and Performing Arts.
2. Ability to implement Stage 4 and Stage 5 teaching and learning
programs effectively to engage students and improve learning outcomes.
3. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the CAPA and Special
Education faculties to improve outcomes for a diverse range of students.
4. Demonstrated ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
and contribute to differentiated teaching and learning strategies to maximise student
growth and promote high expectations for all students.
