The Opportunity: Learning Leader - Mathematic (3 PoL)
Situated on the beautiful banks of the Murray River, Echuca is only a 2.5 hour drive north of Melbourne with a population of 15,500 people. With a median house price of $600,000 and average rental prices for a 3-bedroom house is $550 per week. Join our team as the Learning Leader - Mathematics and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education at our school. We're searching for a passionate and innovative leader to drive the implementation of a rigorous and engaging curriculum for our students. As the Learning Leader - Mathematics, you'll be responsible for:
- Elevating our curriculum: Develop and implement engaging, progressive, and challenging units of work that inspire a love for mathematics.
- Empowering our teachers: Guide and mentor our teachers, enhancing their ability to reflect on student learning and strategically use data to drive improvement.
- Leading with vision: Collaborate with our leadership team to develop and refine our approach to curriculum, assessment, and reporting, ensuring our mathematics program remains at the forefront of educational excellence.

Essential Criteria
To be considered for this vital role, you'll need:
- Curriculum & Pedagogy: Design and maintain a rigorous, engaging, and well-documented curriculum. You'll facilitate collaborative planning and model innovative teaching and assessment strategies, ensuring a high-quality learning program for all students.
- Data & Reporting: Take the lead in tracking student progress and training staff to effectively use a broad range of data. You will ensure that both formative and summative assessments are rigorous and that academic reporting to parents is comprehensive and timely.
- Operational Management: Efficiently manage the budget for your learning area and contribute to the development of school-wide policies and procedures. You will be a go-to person for staff consultation and support, ensuring the smooth operation of your domain.
- Strategic Planning & Vision: Actively contribute to the school's strategic plan and vision as a Catholic institution. You will develop a clear vision for your learning area, set ambitious goals, and lead your team in achieving them, using data and research to guide all decisions.
Leadership & Support: Act as a "critical friend" to staff, providing coaching, feedback, and support to improve teaching practices and student outcomes. You will lead improvement conversations, assist with data analysis, and promote a positive team culture focused on professional growth.
