About the Role:
Northbridge Public School is seeking a caring, reliable and proactive School Learning Support Officer (SLSO) to join our team on Fridays. The successful applicant will work under the direction and supervision of teaching staff to support students with diverse learning and support needs across classroom and playground settings. We have an experienced group of SLSO staff who you will work collaboratively with as part of this support team. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide in-class support to students with additional learning, behavioural, and social needs.

• Assist students with physical or personal care needs, where required.

• Foster student engagement and inclusion in learning activities.

• Support safe and positive play during breaks, including structured and unstructured activities.

• Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to implement individual support strategies.

• Promote a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment.

Essential Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience or interest in working with children with a range of needs in educational settings.

• Ability to work collaboratively and take direction from teaching and executive staff.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Commitment to supporting the wellbeing, safety and inclusion of all students.

• Willingness to be flexible given the busy nature of a primary school on a Friday.

• Mandatory DOE compliance training completed

• WWCC
