We have and we prioritise equity and inclusion in all aspects of our educational approach. Through partnerships with the Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) and the Muloobinbah Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (LAECG), we ensure that our school community actively participates in and contributes to our educational aspirations.
About the role
The position is a 1.0 position for the remainder of 2025. We have three supported learning classes at our school. We are seeking a suitable teacher to join our team for the duration of 2025. This role commences on 13th October 2025. At Merewether Public School you will be a part of a dedicated team of educators who work closely with families and agencies to maximise holistic opportunities for students.
Selection criteria
· Approval to teach Special Education and/or demonstrated experience teaching students with diverse needs including Autism, moderate intellectual disabilities, and with complex behavioural and emotional needs.
· Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum and implement individualised learning programs that are inclusive and maximise student achievement and engagement.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team and build positive relationships with students, staff, parents/carers, and the wider community including external agencies.
· Commitment to the implementation of successful whole-school wellbeing programs with the proven ability to develop positive, inclusive learning environments through the highly effective management of student behaviour, supporting students with a range of social and emotional needs.
