2025 – 2026 Modern Languages teacher at Denison College
of Secondary Education – Kelso High Campus in Bathurst NSW
Contract: 21 July 2025 – 17 December 2026.
Total Annual Remuneration Package (1.0 FTE): The
total annual remuneration package for this classroom teacher position is valued
up to $151,034.00 including leave loading and employer's contribution to
superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on
experience.
Position Information: In 2025 we require a teacher to
deliver mandatory Modern Languages to six Stage 4 classes and support the
learning of students in one Stage 5 Japanese elective class. The teaching load
in 2026 will comprise six Stage 4 mandatory Modern Languages classes and may
include one Stage 5 Japanese elective class if the successful applicant has the
necessary expertise.
This is a fulltime position, but it may be possible to
negotiate part-time work. Please note that it is not essential for the
successful applicant to have NSW Department of Education languages teaching codes.
A relocation support payment of $5,000 to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.

support early career teachers, so final year university students are also
encouraged to apply.
Denison College of Secondary Education - Kelso High Campus

Selection Criteria:
Successful applicants must have NSW Department of Education
approval to teach in NSW public schools. If you require assistance in obtaining

The selection process involves:
- submission
of a current resume with contact details for two school-based referees who
are familiar with, and able to discuss, your abilities and suitability for
this position. One of your referees must be your current/most recent
supervisor.
- submission
of a written application addressing the specific selection criteria below
(maximum of two pages)
- verbal
referee reports and
- an
informal interview.
Specific Selection Criteria:
- Capacity
to engage Stage 4 students with diverse learning needs in their mandatory study
of Modern Languages as per NSW syllabus requirements. Please include
details of relevant qualifications, experience and expertise. It is not
essential for the successful applicant to have NSW Department of Education
languages teaching codes.
- Highly
developed communication and interpersonal skills with the demonstrated
ability to work collaboratively, proactively and professionally with colleagues,
parents and carers, and the wider community.
