About the Role:
Bankstown Girls High School seeks a passionate and dedicated Science teacher for a full-time casual block position during Term 2. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Science lessons to students in Years 7-10, fostering a positive learning environment and supporting student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons aligned with the NSW curriculum for Years 7-10.

  • Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.

  • Assess and provide feedback on student progress in accordance with school policies.

  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and participate in reporting processes.

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to faculty planning and professional development.

  • Support student wellbeing and classroom management in line with school expectations.

  • Collaborate with Head teacher to write Semester 1 Reports.

Essential Criteria:

  • Approval to teach Science in NSW (must be accredited with the NSW Education Standards Authority - NESA).

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver the NSW Science curriculum to students in Years 7-10.

  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, and parents.

  • Commitment to the values and ethos of Bankstown Girls High School.

  • Valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience teaching in a high school setting, particularly in diverse learning environments.

  • Familiarity with evidence-based teaching practices to enhance student learning outcomes.

  • Ability to integrate ICT effectively into Science teaching.
