Cherrybrook Technology High School (CTHS) is a large comprehensive, coeducational high school that was established in 1992. CTHS has an enrolment of 2067 students, with 74% coming from non-English speaking backgrounds. The school has a highly motivated team of teaching, administrative and support staff, students, and parents, all committed to achieving strong academic outcomes, underpinned by a technologically innovative, supportive environment. Cherrybrook Technology High School values and encourages a broad range of academic, cultural, and sporting pursuits. Extensive extracurricular activities are available for students to excel in sports and cultural activities, and opportunities to participate in leadership initiatives are also offered. An important feature of the school is its wellbeing programs and systems that strive to support each child as they progress through high school.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate TAS teacher in a part-time (0.6) temporary position for 2025 (31/01/2025 - 19/12/2025). This role will include teaching multiple Stage 4 Technology classes as well as a range of Stage 5 TAS electives (Industrial Arts).
Selection criteria
- Approval to teach Technology Mandatory (ITX 7-8), and a willingness to deliver a range of TAS - Industrial Arts courses in Stage 5 (Design and Technology)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to build strong working relationships with staff and students
- Capacity to work as a collaborative member of the TAS Key Learning Area (KLA) and contribute towards the development of KLA programs and resources
- Capacity to manage a wide range of student projects and to implement innovative technologies into practical courses
