About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Assessment Officer to join the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing, monitoring, and evaluating key assessment projects, including the HSC Minimum Standards tests and HSC examinations. This is a fantastic chance to contribute to the educational outcomes of students across NSW by ensuring high-quality assessments that align with current educational standards and practices.

  

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development and delivery of assessment projects to meet organisational goals efficiently.
  • Implementing project plans to achieve results within set timelines, budgets and quality benchmarks.
  • Managing relationships with stakeholders and coordinating teams through effective communication and negotiation.
  • Providing expert advice and support to senior management on examinations and assessment initiatives.
  • Collaborating with various NESA directorates and branches to advance assessment and examination projects.
  • Monitoring national and international trends in educational assessment to inform and enhance our practices.

 

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in secondary education with experience teaching senior secondary students; expertise in Stage 6 Mathematics is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of current and emerging trends in educational assessment and examination development.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and balance multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • A current/valid Working with Children Check.
