Secondary College Languages (SCL), formerly Saturday School of Community Languages, is the leading provider of face-to-face languages education in NSW.

We are a unique and dynamic College, established in 1978 to provide a pathway for students to maintain education in their mother tongue when that language is not available for study at their own school. We offer 22 languages to students in Years 5-12 from public schools and other educational providers.

Our college has been providing excellence in languages teaching and learning since its inception in 1978. It provides a vibrant learning environment which caters to the individual needs of all students.

Across our 13 Campuses we provide diverse and vibrant learning environments where every student connects linguistically and culturally. Our students are motivated to grow their intercultural understanding and achieve excellence in their language learning.

Students at the Secondary College of Languages (SCL) follow NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) syllabuses. Courses are offered for Years 7-12, with select languages being trialled for Years 5-6. Our courses are credentialed on the Record of School Achievement (RoSA) and Higher School Certificate (HSC). All of our Stage 6 courses are Board Developed Courses or Board Endorsed Courses which contribute to the achievement of an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR).

Classes at the Secondary College of Languages are held every Saturday morning during the school term. Years 7-10 classes run from 8:30am to 10:30am. Year 11-12 classes run from 8:30am to 11:45am with a 15 minute break at 10:30am. Year 12 Extension classes run for an additional hour and 15 minutes, concluding at 1:00pm.
