At Nowra Public School every student learns, grows and belongs in our equitable and inclusive school community.
Established in 1862 Nowra Public School is situated on Dharawal Country. It is centrally located in Nowra on two sites: K-2 and 3-6. The school is a vibrant learning community and draws from a diverse population with an enrolment of approximately 500 students. As well as mainstream classes the school also has six support classes. Aboriginal students make up approximately 33% of our student population. There is a strong focus on ensuring that Aboriginal culture and history are taught throughout the school. Staff are also active members of the Nowra Local AECG.
The school receives considerable funding under the Resource Allocation Model (RAM) and as a result is well resourced. Nowra Public School has highly skilled staff who are committed to supporting all students to "Aim to Achieve" in all aspects of school life.
We also have a strong focus on student wellbeing, supporting students to become resilient and active learners as well as engaging in all facets of school life.
The school is currently undertaking an exciting school transformation journey focused on evidence informed practices and significant professional development for staff.
