Hurstville Public School is located in a highly urbanised area of southern Sydney. The area is undergoing rapid redevelopment with large, multi-storey apartment blocks increasing the number of families residing within the school's enrolment boundaries. The school is one of the largest primary schools in the state with over 1160 students.
