Gardeners Road Public School is an inner city school in the suburb of Rosebery, Sydney.
The school has a long and distinguished history of public education dating from 1883.
Rosebery is situated in a strong growth area for housing with a significant amount of large
apartment buildings constructed recently or in planning. Our school is supported by a strong
and vibrant multi-cultural community, and our Greek and Turkish languages Community
Language Program supports students in maintaining and developing further communicative
competence in their community language.
Enrolment of 410 which has increased steadily by 5% in the last 3-5 years. There is an
increasing trend of students with an English as an Additional Language and Dialect (EAL/D)
background which is currently 72%. The 4% Aboriginal student cohort is steady. In addition
to 15 mainstream classes, Gardeners Road Public School is an inclusive environment with
seven support classes educating 52 students.
