Hilliard Christian School is seeking adaptable Casual Relief Teachers and LAT holders to join our relief teaching pool across Kindergarten to Year 10.

About the Role

Relief teachers play a vital role in keeping our classrooms running smoothly when regular teachers are absent. You will step into Primary (K–6) or Secondary (7–10) classrooms to maintain lesson plans, support student learning, and ensure a safe, engaging classroom atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruction: Deliver prepared lesson plans and guide student learning across various year levels and subjects.

• Classroom Management: Maintain an inclusive, positive classroom environment aligned with our school’s behavioral standards.

• Primary Coverage: Lead a class through their daily schedule, maintaining consistent classroom routines.

• Secondary Coverage: Supervising scheduled periods, assisting students with coursework, and managing classroom rules.

• Duty & Supervision: Conduct scheduled playground or yard duties to ensure student safety.

• Handover: Leave brief feedback for returning teachers regarding student work, attendance, and notable notes from the day.

Selection Criteria

• CRT Requirements: Full or Provisional registration with the Teachers Registration Board of Tasmania (TRB Tas).

• LAT Requirements: Approved Limited Authority to Teach (LAT) through TRB Tas 

• Child Safety: Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) card (Employment category).

• Ethos: A willingness to respect and support the Christian values and ethos of the school community.
