St John's Primary School, Lambton is seeking a Temporary Part Time (14hrs per week) Pastoral Care Worker to join the team for the remainder of the year.
St John's Primary School provides a supportive and safe learning environment for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. St John’s strives to meet the needs of all students, providing a quality academic curriculum that develops the uniqueness and potential of each student. Staff at St John’s are dedicated to ensuring continual progress and growth in learning through the use of reflective practices, data driven research and evidence-based teaching. With access to modern facilities and the incorporation of 21st century technology, St John’s encourages all students to pursue the highest level of achievement.
Pastoral care is defined in the Project Agreement with the Commonwealth Government as the practice of looking after the personal needs of students, not just their academic needs, through the provision of general spiritual and personal advice.
Pastoral care workers support the Pastoral Care of students by providing:
The role of the pastoral care worker will vary depending on the needs of the individual schools and their communities. Therefore, schools are encouraged to shape the role of the position according to local needs and the capacities of the incumbent.

Salary is in accordance with Educational Services (Schools) General Staff Award 2020.
