Job Summary
Holroyd High School Intensive English Centre is seeking passionate and committed School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) to support newly arrived students as they adapt to life and learning in Australia.
We are currently looking to expand our SLSO staffing lists and particularly encourage applications from individuals who speak Dari and are interested in supporting students from refugee and migrant backgrounds.
This role has a strong focus on interpreting and communication support for newly arrived students and their families. Successful applicants will assist staff and students by providing language support, helping families engage with the school community, and supporting communication in educational and wellbeing settings.
As an SLSO within our Intensive English Centre, you will also work closely with teachers and students to support learning, language development, classroom participation, and student wellbeing across a range of curriculum areas.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a supportive and diverse school community and make a meaningful difference in the educational journey of newly arrived students.
Experience working with young people, schools, multicultural communities, or interpreting and translation work is highly regarded.
