Seeking Casual SLSOs to Join Our SLSO Roster – Hunter River Community School (SSP)

Hunter River Community School (HRCS), located in Metford, NSW, is seeking casual School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) to join our SLSO roster.

We are a School for Specific Purposes (SSP) specialising in supporting students with significant and complex disabilities. Our unique setting requires dedicated and compassionate staff who understand the diverse challenges faced by our students.

At HRCS:

• Our students have significant and complex disabilities.
• Many have difficulty with self-regulation and may display challenging behaviours, including occasional aggression.
• Some students have complex medical conditions that impact their daily school experience.
• Nearly 70% of our students have very limited or no verbal communication and use a variety of communication supports.

Casual SLSOs must be committed to supporting our students safely and effectively in this specialised environment.

Due to the unique complexities of our site, including the diverse needs of our student community, all new casual staff are required to complete a site induction before requests can be confirmed or casual day bookings can be finalised. This induction is essential to ensure you are fully prepared to support our students effectively and safely.  Inductions can be booked via the below link.
