Job Summary

Chester Hill Public School is seeking is apassionate and enthusiastic teachercommitted to achieving outstanding learning outcomes for all students. We located in Sydney South West. Our school has approximately 578 students (23 classes) with a high number of students from non-English speaking backgrounds. Literacy and numeracy are our primary areas of focus and learning in these curriculum areas is supported, developed and enhanced through additional RFF focused on curriculum reform 

We are a PBL school, and with the implementation of the Berry Street Education Model, we value the development of authentic relationships with our students, supporting them to reach their potential across a range of areas. Our school has a proud history of sporting excellence, and we offer a range of HPGE Programs which include; Maths Explorer and Maths Olympiad; Writing Groups, Young Archies, Cheso Challenge Groups and Smart City (STEM).  

Our teachers provide innovative and enriched teaching and learning experiences to engage all students in learning. We are committed to ensuring that every student is known, valued and cared for and we strive to actively engage our whole school community by building and strengthening relationships with students, parents and the wider community.  We have wonderful students, supportive colleagues and great learning environments.  

The position is a temporary full-time position (5 days/per week) on a Year 2 class  to start as soon as possible until Friday 19 December 2025 (Term 4 Week 10). 

Applicants must be accredited teachers with a valid NSW Department of Education approval number and all mandatory training up to date. 


Success Criteria 

  • Approval to teach K–6 with a demonstrated ability to plan and deliver quality, differentiated teaching and learning programs, with an emphasis on literacy and numeracy.  
  • Proven ability to support and implement wellbeing initiatives that maintain and enhance a positive, supportive and inclusive classroom culture, and cater to the diverse needs of individual students from a variety of backgrounds.  
  • Proven ability to contribute positively to the school community. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to contribute effectively to stage teams.
