The Wonnarua Nation Aboriginal
Corporation (WNAC) is working in partnership with the Institute for Positive
Psychology and Education (IPPE) at Australian Catholic University (ACU) on a
range of programs to help ‘Close the Gap.’ These programs aim to help children
thrive at school, enhance their well-being, and to build a positive future for
children and the community.
WNAC and IPPE are looking to employ
qualified educators and/or graduate teachers to work with and support year 3
and year 4 students and their families utilising an online tutoring program. This role is a remote/WFH position.
Responsibilities:
- Access to telephone, computer, stable
internet connection, and willingness to make phone calls, and deliver online
tutoring in Literacy (reading/writing/spelling) and Numeracy
- Technical expertise (conducting lessons
on Zoom) combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Have at least 4 afternoons available per
week, and be available for 2-3 hours per afternoon between 3:30 pm- 8 pm
(weekdays and school terms only)
- Have a passion for supporting,
encouraging, and inspiring students!
- Commitment to ‘Closing the Gap’
initiative
- Interest in research projects and
understanding of intervention programs to support children’s learning and
future trajectories
You will need to have:
- Qualified educator, recent graduate, or
currently working towards a university qualification in education or a field
related to Maths and English (Numeracy & Literacy) are required.
- Current Working with Children Check
(NSW)
- Experience working with Communities
- Interest in working with Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander families
- Excellent stakeholder management skills

rate HEW 5.1 $58.68 per hour including 25% casual loading.
