1. Hunter River Community School or HRCS is situated in Metford, NSW, Australia

2. Hunter River Community School is a School for Specific Purposes (SSP). All of the students who attend HRCS have significant and complex disabilities

3. Our students have difficulty with self regulation and often will display challenging behaviours– this may include aggressive behaviours that can unintentionally be    directed toward others

4. A percentage of our students have complex medical conditions that significantly impact on their day at school

5. Almost 70% of our students have very limited verbal skills and are non-verbal. They use a diverse range of communication supports
