Position Information

Bankstown Girls High School is a comprehensive public girls’ high school with an enrolment of approximately 750 students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, including a significant proportion of students from a language background other than English.

We are seeking a dynamic and committed HSIE teacher with approval to teach Business Studies, Commerce and Geography, and the ability to contribute to the school sport program. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong curriculum knowledge, classroom management skills, and a commitment to fostering student engagement and success.

This is a temporary full-time position for the remainder of the 2025 school year.


Specific Subjects and Load

  • Year 11 Business Studies – 2 classes (12 periods)

  • Year 9 Commerce – 4 periods

  • Year 7 Geography – 5 periods

  • Year 9 Geography – 5 periods 

  • Sport – 2 periods


Selection Criteria

  1. Approval to teach HSIE, specifically Business Studies, Commerce and Geography (Stages 4–6).

  2. Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that cater for the needs of diverse learners.

  3. Capacity to contribute to the school’s Sport program, including organisation and supervision of students.

  4. Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

  5. Commitment to student wellbeing, inclusive practices and fostering positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.

  6. Willingness to actively contribute to the school’s strategic directions, co-curricular activities and broader school life.
