Job Summary

Walla Walla Public School is small school, set in an idyllic rural town, 25 minutes driving distance from Albury, NSW. We have two multi-stage classrooms (K-2 and 3-6) catering for the diverse needs of 39 students. We have a strong focus on high-quality literacy and numeracy teaching to small groups of students at their point-of-need. Our four full-time teaching staff each teach literacy and numeracy groups of between 5-15 students. Our school is very well-resourced and has excellent facilities for teaching and learning. Staff are supported in their professional practice and development in a friendly and collegial work environment.

About the Role

We are seeking two flexible educators to team teach with our highly experienced K-2 and 3-6 class teachers. The roles will entail a mixture of small-group literacy and numeracy teaching in the classroom environment, and whole-class (K-2 or 3-6) teaching in HSIE/SciTech/PDHPE/Creative Arts. The roles may be filled full- or part-time, by negotiation, from 0.6-1.0FTE. The positions are for Semester 2, with the possibility of extension.

Experienced teachers please note that an internal EOI will be offered for a temporary 0.2 FTE Assistant Principal Curriculum and Instruction for Semester 2, 2025, with the possibility of extension.

Selection criteria

§  Approval to teach K-6, with demonstrated experience in planning and delivering differentiated programs that positively impact student outcomes, with an emphasis on literacy and numeracy.

§  Demonstrated high-level classroom management skills and the proven ability to create safe and positive learning environments that enhance student engagement, including students with additional needs.

§  Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the demonstrated capacity to work in partnership with staff, students, parents, and the wider community to contribute to a positive, cohesive school culture.
