St Carthage's Primary School, Lismore
We are a Catholic School in Lismore catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Our Parish school is committed to "Enabling students to achieve fullness of life". We provide a contemporary learning approach that is personalised, responding to the learning needs, interests and experiences of each student. We aim to empower students with the knowledge, skills and capabilities to respond creatively to the challenges of their world.
We aim to provide learning environments that are inclusive, responsive and intentional and interconnected where students feel valued, respected and cared for. We promote high expectations based on the belief that everyone can learn, inclusive environments that allow students to thrive and a culture of inquiry and collaboration which promotes curiosity, adventure, measured risk taking and reflection.
The role of the Student Wellbeing Officer is to support the emotional well-being of students. The National School Wellbeing Program supports schools to provide a school-based role that is recognised as part of the whole school approach to pastoral care.
Applicants must:
Qualifications:
• mental health and making appropriate referrals; and
• providing pastoral care, and/or working with youth
Persons holding a formal qualification (Certificate IV or above) in a related field (eg, Theology/ Nursing/Policing, etc) which includes components dealing with mental health and client referrals are deemed to meet the minimum qualifications.
Teachers, social workers, counsellors or psychologists in training are also deemed to meet the minimum qualifications.
Applicants with a teaching degree meet the qualifications but will not be remunerated as a teacher.
Criteria:
Your application should address the above criteria including the nomination of two (2) referees.
