Job Summary

At Sam's Tutoring, we are seeking experienced and passionate Primary and High School Teachers to join our growing team on a contract basis. You will play a vital role in supporting the academic success and development of our students, leading tailored one-on-one or small group lessons in a range of subject areas. We offer competitive hourly rates, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for professional development and growth. We are looking for Tutors in the following subjects:

  • Mathematics year 7-10
  • English year 7-10
  • Science year 7-10
  • Year 11 and 12 Mathematics Standard, Advanced, Extension 1 and Extension 2
  • Year 11 and 12 English Standard, Advanced, Extension 1 and Extension 2
  • Biology year 11-12
  • Physics year 11-12
  • Chemistry year 11-12

Shifts: Weeknights on Monday-Thursday from 3:30pm-8:30pm and Saturday Mornings.

Pay Rates: Based on qualifications we pay competitive rates inclusive of superannuation.


Key Criteria:

  • A degree with a major in the subject area to be taught (if applicable)
  • A strong passion for education and helping others succeed
  • Willingness to learn and grow as a tutor
  • A valid Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)

What we're looking for:

  • Relevant teaching or tutoring experience, ideally in a Primary or High School setting
  • Strong subject matter expertise and a passion for education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and motivate students
  • Flexibility and adaptability to cater to the unique needs of each student
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest teaching methodologies
  • A valid Working with Children Check and relevant teaching qualifications

  • Your transcripts or evidence supporting results. This would include university transcripts (if applicable) as well as ATAR/UAI and HSC Results (if completed in the last 10 years). Please note that if you are not a university graduate we will require evidence of HSC and ATAR. Evidence means the provision of the ATAR Notice and the HSC Transcript. We cannot accept an email telling us what your mark is although we can accept screen grabs of the email or text from NESA and UAC for the HSC and ATAR (respectively).
