Iona College is building a team of Casual Diverse Learning Teacher Aides to provide support when permanent aides are unavailable. This role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an inclusive and supportive learning environment, working closely with the Diverse Learning team and classroom teachers to assist students with diverse needs. Support areas may include physical, intellectual, hearing, visual, speech and language, and behavioural development.
As a casual relief teacher aide, you will play a key role in fostering student engagement and well-being while upholding the Catholic values and Oblate Charism of our College.
To be successful in this role, you will:
✅ Have experience supporting students who require learning adjustments
✅ Demonstrate a commitment to Catholic education and values
✅ Maintain a high level of confidentiality, attention to detail, and ethical practice
✅ Be passionate about education and building positive relationships with students and staff
✅ Ideally hold a Certificate III or IV in Education Support (or equivalent experience)
✅ Have ICT skills to assist students with significant learning challenges
✅ Show a proactive approach to student protection and well-being
✅ Hold a current Working With Children Licence (Blue Card)
✅ Possess strong communication, listening, and teamwork skills
