About the role
Expressions of interest are invited to fill a part time temporary classroom teacher (Year 5-6 class or K-1 class), 2 days and 1 day RFF / Librarian at Broadwater Public School from Term 1 2025, with a possible extension for the remainder of the year. We are currently located at 65 Cypress Street, Evans Head (on the grounds at Evans River K-12 School). We will be returning to our new school (9 Byrnes Steet, Broadwater) early 2025.
Role criteria
1. Approval to teach Infants and Primary (K-6) with demonstrated ability to use quality literacy and numeracy teaching practices, analyse student assessment data to provide feedback to students and inform teaching practices that improve learning outcomes and engagement.
2. Strong classroom management and behaviour strategies and wellbeing practices with the capacity to develop a positive, caring classroom learning environment. An ability to implement inclusive strategies to engage and support a diverse range of students.
3. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team and build positive relationships with students, staff and the community to promote learning.
4. Proven commitment to support whole school programs and extracurricular activities that support students academically, socially and emotionally.

In addition to addressing the selection criteria, a one-page CV and an A4 cover letter briefly outlining qualifications, accreditation details, recent work history and skills should be submitted. The cover letter must include the contact details of the applicant’s principal/supervisor, or a principal of a school in which the applicant has worked recently.
