We invite expressions of interest from early career and experienced teachers to the position of full-time mainstream K-6 teacher Lavington East Public School for 2025 with the possibility of extension. Interested candidates should submit a one-page expression of interest outlining their suitability based on the selection criteria. School Overview:

Lavington East Public School is located in northeastern Lavington, Albury, and serves a vibrant community of approximately 300 students. Our school embraces cultural diversity, supporting families from over 12 different cultural backgrounds and 17 languages, with a strong focus on newly arrived students and those with refugee experiences. We also feature a Support Unit with two Multicategorical classes and one Autism-specific class. Committed to academic excellence, collaborative practices, and wellbeing interventions, our school is dedicated to fostering growth and achievement. In 2025, Lavington East will collaborate within a community of schools as a professional learning community, focusing on explicit teaching. This initiative will be supported by additional weekly professional learning sessions, guided by the APCI and stage AP, to further enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.

Class Teacher Role:

As a Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated instruction across key learning areas, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and promoting student growth and achievement. You will plan, implement, and assess cohesive units of work aligned with curriculum requirements, tailoring lessons to meet the diverse needs of your students. Additionally, you will collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, participate in ongoing professional development, and maintain open communication with families to support student learning and wellbeing. Through your role, you will contribute to the school community, supporting initiatives that enhance student engagement and outcomes.

Application Process:

Interested applicants are required to include two referees in their application, one of whom is their current principal. An interview may be part of the selection process. Applicants should also specify their preferred part-time availability.

Selection Criteria:

Applicants must address the following selection criteria in their application:

1. Classroom Management:

Demonstrate effective classroom management strategies that create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Provide examples of how you have successfully managed diverse student needs and fostered a culture of respect and collaboration among students.

2 . Teaching and Learning Cycle for Differentiated Instruction:

Demonstrated ability to use the teaching and learning cycle to deliver differentiated instruction aligned with syllabus outcomes, including planning, assessing, and evaluating lessons. Proven skills in analysing student data to inform teaching and implementing evidence-based strategies to support diverse learning needs. Commitment to ongoing reflection, collaboration, and continuous improvement to enhance student engagement and outcomes.
