  • 3 days a week (days negotiable) | Part Time Fixed Term | 3 days a week (days negotiable)
  • $84,078 - $121,093 per annum + Super pro-rata (commensurate with experience)

We are seeking an experienced Support Teacher: Inclusive Education (STIE) for a part-time fixed term (3 days/week) position for the 2025 school year. You will predominantly work with Prep - Year 6 students.

About the role 

- As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, in collaboration with students, parents, teachers, leaders and allied health professionals, you will support students across the full range of abilities and needs, to meet specific learning needs. In particular you will: 

  • Design and implement inclusive and effective teaching and learning strategies to engage and improve education outcomes of supported students
  • Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy
  • Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
  • Work with the school leadership team and colleagues to contribute to the professional life of the school
  • Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes aligned to The Alice Springs (Mparntwe) goals for young Australians
  • Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching. 

About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience as well as:

  • Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus experience using the Australian Curriculum in a flexible manner to meet the needs of a diverse student population
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.
  • Know and understand the Disability Discrimination Act and apply Disability Standards for Education
  • Demonstrated application of the NCCD model as part of a whole-school approach to supporting students with a disability
  • Proven ability to oversee and deliver a range of processes, including enrolment transitions (EASPs), and mapping and planning functions to support inclusive education practices
  • Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best learning outcomes
  • Have a commitment to Safeguarding

Our commitment to these standards requires that we conduct Working With Children (WWC) and background referencing for all persons who will engage in direct and regular involvement with children and young people and/or adults-at-risk. At BCE our teachers are required to:

  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
