School Overview
Glenroy Public School is situated in the rural city of Albury with a total enrolment of 217 students. The student population has a small number of English as an Additional Language or Dialect students and 25% Aboriginal students. The school consists of multiple composite classes and three multi-categorical classes. The dedicated and enthusiastic staff work collaboratively to provide a safe and challenging learning environment that encourages all students to meet their full potential in academic, cultural, social, emotional and sporting endeavours.
The school has an unwavering focus on student wellbeing and attendance, with a designated Attendance Coordinator and Aboriginal Education Officer working with families to maintain regular attendance.
About the role
Expressions of interest are invited by teachers in a position of Multi-categorical Classroom Teacher, Glenroy Public School for the period of 31 January 2025 to 26 January 2026.
Selection criteria
- Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with complex needs, including students with autism, and other complex behaviours.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team and build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, external agencies and members of the wider school community to achieve the best possible outcomes for students.
- Demonstrated capacity to plan, deliver and evaluate differentiated Individualised Education Plans that are evidence based, engaging and culturally inclusive with a focus on student engagement and wellbeing.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive school culture and school-wide wellbeing practices that are inclusive, including a willingness and enthusiasm to contribute to whole school activities.
Who can apply
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process
