George Bass School is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for all students. We want our students to love swimming and develop skills in water safety. We are seeking a dedicated Swimming Instructor to join our team and help us achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct swimming lessons that emphasise water safety skills for students  with intellectual and associated disabilities.
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of their development in swimming and water safety.
• Collaborate with class teams to create individualised learning goals and adapt teaching methods to meet students’ diverse needs.
• Display exceptional interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and colleagues.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and a willingness to assist in various capacities as needed, for example, assist in a class as a School Learning Support Officer (SLSO)if the pool is out of action.
• Ensure a safe environment for all students at all times.

Qualifications:

Current swimming instructor qualification such as Austswim, RLSS, or Swim Australia.
