Studies of Religion (SOR) Teacher and Religious Education (RE)

Permanent full-time position

Commencing January 2025

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed SOR and RE Teacher with excellent communication skills and classroom experience to join our supportive and collaborative RE Faculty. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to our mission of promoting a comprehensive understanding of religious and ethical perspectives. The successful applicant will have knowledge of current developments in teaching and learning and a passion and enthusiasm for teaching.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Proven experience teaching Studies of Religion (SOR) Stage 6 and Religious Education (RE) across Stages 4-5;
  • Demonstrated experience teaching HSC Studies of Religion;
  • HSC marking experience is preferable;
  • Planning and implementing effective teaching and learning strategies;
  • Assessing, providing feedback, and reporting on student learning;
  • Developing teaching programs and assessments across all stages preferred however not essential;
  • Working collaboratively in a Religious Education Faculty;
  • Ability to implement new syllabi;
  • Creating and maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment;
  • Using effective pedagogies, a range of differentiated approaches and a variety of stimulating and interactive resources to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes;
  • Effectively managing student behaviour and maintaining an educational environment that promotes learning.
